BTX Sent out a news release today:

In today’s economy, we all want a choice. Even more, we DESERVE choice. The days of only three television networks and two car manufacturers are long gone. The same goes for the window coverings and home automation industries. Choice of fabric treatment, choice of high definition video screen, choice of remote lighting control… the list goes on and on. Reality is that we want what suits us best, often not what people want to sell us. The catch is that we would like to fulfill those desires at a reasonable cost.

When it comes to network integration, BTX gives you that choice. Despite any obstacles, BTX offers a way to give you the flexibility you need to get the job done using the systems YOU want at a price you can afford.

If you find yourself in a situation where a house has been pre-wired, for Lutron for instance, but you prefer to use a customized automation solution from BTX for window coverings, simply check out the wiring diagrams on our website, and see how you can integrate these where many others can’t.

For a complete overview of our program or for any questions about our products, go to our website or call 1-800-422-8839 or 214-340-2800. We are here for you.

We have the tools to help you on our webshop. But which clutch and tube combination should you choose? Use this handy chart to figure out the right gear based on the shade width, height, and fabric weight. Note that the recommendations are based on minimums, so there’s no harm in using heavier duty clutches than needed.

Measuring your windows for shades is easy! Just grab a pen, some paper, and a steel measuring tape, and you’ll be ready to order your custom made shades.

Measuring for Inside Mount

Measure the window’s width in at least three different places. In many homes, the window frame dimensions can vary slightly from the top to the bottom. Take a note of your narrowest width measurement to give you the best fit.

Measure the inside height at at least two places as well and write down your height measurement that provides the best fit.

When ordering, give us the exact dimensions down to 1/8″ and we’ll order the shade exactly to your specification.

Keep in mind that once made, the fabric will have a slight deduction on either side (about half an inch on either side).

To install the product flush with the window frame, a minimum window depth of 2″ is required without a fascia and a minimum window depth of 4″ is required with a fascia.

Measuring for Outside Mount

This method is much easier to measure. Just take a measurement of the the width and height you want the rollershade to be. Consider adding 1-1/2″ to 3″ on the sides, top, and bottom to get a nice overlap on all sides.

If your window frame is not flush with the wall you may want to measure so that the brackets will go on the frame itself, that way there’s no obstructions when the shade rolls down.
